A Brief Note about Kalyani City and Kalyani Book Fair.

Kalyani City was established in the year 1954 through Congress Session. This city is proud of its Academic Institutes, Engineering Institutes, Industry, Health Services, Information Technology, Hotel and Tourism etc. Kalyani is the Sub-Divisional Head Quarter of the district Nadia and Kalyani Municipality is the Nirmal Sahar awarded by Govt. of India. as a result of this city is treated as ‘A’ Grade City. At present over a lakhs of people permanently resides here. It is a great opportunity to state that local people tremendously pressed heard to start Kalyani Book Fair, in order to honour them, we start this activity in the year of 1988.

In fact, every year a large number of Bengal and National reputed Book Publishers like ‘Ananda Publications’, ‘Dey’s Publications’. ‘Viswa-Bharati’,’ Rupa’ etc along with so many medium and small size of Book Sellers and Publishers have participated in the Bookfair.  Prospective numbers of book purchasers and traders, particularly book lovers like, students, teachers, university professors are visited the Bookfair. As result, as recorded, on an average of Rs. 25 to Rs. 30 lakhs of books are sold out from this Book Fair. About 4000 — 5000 visitors visited in aforesaid Fair Fest per day.
